"I edit photographs to recreate the utopia that I see in imagination"

 by Carl Ledesma

I am often asked what my secret is. There is no secret. I edit scenes to emulate the utopia I see in my imagination.  My superpower is seeing exaggerated perfection in everyday things. I call it "making magic out of the mundane".  Even in nature where beauty is already abundantly evident; I see it in exaggerated dream like Technicolor.

Night Photography is where my superpower is its strongest. I get to play like a child and create instant daydreams. I see kids of all ages instantly connect to my night stories with instant smiles.  These stories allow everyone to participate in their own fantasies.

My industrial night photography is where children’s eyeslight up. The use of detail rich machinery, trucks, and colors draw them into the scene. There they become hard workers making sound effects and dreaming uptheir own scenarios.  These photographs belong where children need to separate themselves from their own problems, like hospitals and doctors’ offices.
